Abstract
⺠Comparative electrical performance of an ultra battery and a lead-acid battery is examined. ⺠A model is developed for the ultra battery which is verified experimentally. ⺠Comparisons are made to conventional lead-acid battery/supercapacitor parallel networks. ⺠Parallel network tests highlight the respective roles of the supercapacitor and battery. ⺠The work informs application of the ultra battery to transient charge/discharge applications.
