Abstract
⺠A wrinkled structure is formed during charge/discharge cycling of Si nanoparticles. ⺠The wrinkled structure exhibits high capacity as well as good rate performance. ⺠The wrinkled structure is retained for long cycles by restricting lithiation degree. ⺠Uniform carbon-coating of Si nanoparticles further enhances the performance.
