Abstract
▸ Using a highly conductive ESB, the LSM cathode/electrolyte interface is functionally modified. ▸ Cathodic polarization with an ESB layer is reduced by 60% due to enhanced oxygen incorporation. ▸ The maximum power density of a SOFC using this modification is over 1 W cm−2 at 650 °C. ▸ The SOFC shows a stable performance for ∼200 h.
