Abstract
⺠Two kinds of persulfates, Na2S2O8 and (NH4)2S2O8, were used to extract excess lithium from Li[Li0.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13]O2 before charge-discharge test. ⺠Spherical Li[Li0.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13]O2 material shows an excellent coulombic efficiency close to 100% at the first cycle after Na2S2O8 treatment. ⺠The enhanced electrochemical performance of the treated Li[Li0.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13]O2 material is attributed to the extract of excess lithium component and the formation of spinel phase on the surface of the material.
