Abstract
⺠Poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) was tested as a catalyst binder in a microbial fuel cell. ⺠PDMS cathodes produced comparable power and improved stability compared to Nafion. ⺠The hydrophobicity of PDMS improved oxygen mass transfer to the catalyst sites. ⺠The cost of PDMS is only 0.23% that of Nafion.
