Abstract
► We prepared Mg-La-Al composite nanoparticles by hydrogen plasma-metal reaction. ► These composite nanoparticles can absorb 5.0 wt.% hydrogen in 30 min at 473 K ► The hydrogen absorption activation energy is as low as 23.1 kJ mol−1. ► The LaH3 nanoparticle and the nanostructured Mg improve the sorption process.
