Abstract
► High-capacity Fe- and/or Ti-substituted Li2MnO3 positive electrode materials were prepared. ► They had higher initial cycle efficiency than 70% and higher specific capacity than 200 mAh g−1. ► Beneficial electrochemical performance was accomplished using carbothermal reduction. ► They are attractive for use as positive electrode materials in large-scale lithium-ion batteries.
