Abstract
⺠New boundary conditions were derived to account for the Stern layer without simulating formally it. ⺠Both the Stern and diffuse layers were rigorously accounted for. ⺠The new boundary conditions were valid for planar, cylindrical, and spherical electrodes or pores. ⺠They made possible the simulations of EDLCs with highly ordered porous electrodes. ⺠Predictions of capacitances of an EDLC with ordered bimodal mesoporous carbons agreed well with experimental results.
