Abstract
⺠The profile curve of the deformed seal is satisfactorily validated against macroscopic image. ⺠The rectangular seal contact surface does not change with temperature. ⺠The contact surface for U and triangular grooves increases with temperature. ⺠U groove design can maintain sufficiently high contact stress over entire temperature range. ⺠Maximum deformation of seal material was observed along the U-shape wall surface.
