Abstract

âº We synthesize three spinel compounds for lithium ion batteries. âº Si insertion leads to more expanded and regular MnO6 octahedra. âº Magnetic measurements corroborate the insertion of the dopants. âº LiMn1.95Si0.05O4 gives the best electrochemical performance.
