Abstract
► We synthesize a unique 3D porous nano-Ni supported Si composite film. ► A high capacity of 2444 mAh g−1 can be obtained at 0.84 A g−1. ► 83% of capacity is retained after 100 cycles at 0.84 A g−1. ► The film shows excellent rate capability at 4.2 A g−1 (1420 mAh g−1) and 8.4 A g−1 (1273 mAh g−1).
