Abstract
► Two inactive materials have been re-examined for 5-V Li-ion battery applications. ► Stainless steel positive cans are easily oxidized at voltages above 4.5 V. ► Al-clad positive cans exhibit much better electrochemical stability. ► PE and PVDF separators are suitable for high-voltage Li-ion batteries.
