Abstract
⺠Spinel oxide coatings protect SS441 and Crofer SOFC interconnects. ⺠A shear lag model was used to assess interface shear strength. ⺠An energy-based fracture model was used to determine interface fracture strength. ⺠The oxidation heat treatment yields a more dense but also more brittle coating. ⺠Native oxide scale from the oxidation heat treatment degrades the interface.
