Abstract
► A 3D mathematical model of the laser cutting of current collectors is developed. ► Threshold of full penetration cutting, penetration time and penetration depth are investigated. ► Copper laser cutting is laser intensity and interaction time dependent process. ► Aluminum laser cutting depends more on laser intensity than the interaction time. ► Experimental and simulation results show a good agreement for high speed cutting.
