► Effective transport properties are compared for catalyst layers reconstructed using different algorithms. ► The choice of reconstruction algorithm is shown to have a small impact on the effective transport parameters. ► Using the Derjaguin correction for Knudsen diffusion provides better agreement with experimental data.
