Abstract
Five lanthanide-based coordination polymers: [Ln2(BBOA)3(H2O)]n (Lnâ¯=â¯Sm (1), Eu (2), Gd (3), Tb (4), Dy (5), H2BBOAâ¯=â¯butylene-2,2â²-bis(oxybenzoic acid)) were synthesized and characterized. Ferromagnetic coupling exists between adjacent lanthanide ions in 4 and 5. Luminescence measurements show that compounds 1, 2, 4 and 5 all exhibit the characteristic transitions of corresponding lanthanide ions with compound 5 exhibits white emissions upon excitation.76
