Keggin type of polyoxometalate templated assembly of a silver-organic framework with silver-organic cages and helical structures

A new POM-templated metal-organic framework [Ag8L4][PMo12O40]·OH {HL = 5-[4-(1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)phenyl]-1H-tetrazole} containing metal-organic nanocage and left- and right-handed helixes has been isolated under hydrothermal conditions. The structure is characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric (TGA). The new compound represents a scarce example of POM-encapsulated metal-organic nanocage based MOF. Title compound present better degradation activity for RhB and may be a potential photocatalyst to decompose other organic dye.146
