Abstract
⺠Realistic storm simulations require a multivariate statistical approach. ⺠A case study is used to test multivariate models based on Archimedian copulas. ⺠Three methods for constructing multivariate copulas were assessed. ⺠Hierarchical copulas provided the best trivariate model in the case study. ⺠The study extends bivariate analyses and can improve the modeling of storms.
