Abstract
⺠We investigate the effect of a uniform bore on an erodible beach. ⺠A characteristic method is utilised in order to provide high accuracy. ⺠A bed step associated with the backwash bore is found. ⺠The predicted volume of sand deposited is consistent with some observations.
