Abstract
⺠P-cluster is generated through the reductive coupling of two 4Fe clusters. ⺠M-cluster is synthesized by forming an [Fe8S9] core before Mo/homocitrate insertion. ⺠Formation of the [Fe8S9] core from two [Fe4S4] sub-clusters relies on radical SAM. ⺠SAM serves as the carbon donor for the interstitial carbide in M-cluster. ⺠NifEN and NifDK share a common cluster insertion path for M-cluster assembly.
