Abstract
The FAD5 and not the MGD1 gene was downregulated in the toc132toc120+/â mutant. The mutant accumulates normal levels of MGDG but has decreased levels of 16:3. The proposed major routes in import of the FAD5 desaturase and MGD1 synthase into plastids (adapted from Afitlhile et al., 2013).143
