Abstract
⺠Cell damage by ROS enhances susceptibility to necrotrophs, resistance to biotrophs. ⺠Elevation of antioxidant capacity of plants increases resistance to necrotrophs. ⺠Pathogens eliminate ROS by inducing antioxidants and secreting ROS scavengers. ⺠Plant RBOHD and BAX inhibitor-1 modulate pathogen-induced cell death and resistance. ⺠Antioxidants play an important role in SAR, ISR and mycorrhiza induced resistance.
