Abstract
- Maleic hydrazide interfered cell division in newly fertilized ovules and ovary.
- Consequently, ovules reduced growth rate, synthesized callose and aborted.
- Fruits developed an early-aborted seed type with a small, soft and edible seed coat.
- Stenospermocarpy could only be induced during early embryo sac development.
