Abstract
⺠Soil microbial biomass and nutrient pools in arctic sedge meadows peaked in winter. ⺠Microbial and nutrient pools declined during thaw in all years. ⺠Inter-annual variation was consistent across wet and dry sedge meadows. ⺠The observed seasonal pattern appears to be environmentally regulated.
