Abstract
⺠The effect of tree species on soil chemistry is more pronounced than the influence of legumes. ⺠The effect of legumes was not consistent possibly due to different rates of N2 fixation. ⺠The species effect was more pronounced in plantations than in a diverse secondary forest.
