Abstract
⺠Changes in litter chemistry during decomposition were assessed. ⺠Pyrolysis-molecular beam mass spectrometry was utilized. ⺠Litter chemistry changed more rapidly at home versus away. ⺠Litter chemistry converged during decomposition. ⺠Microbial communities affect the chemistry of litter decomposition.
