Abstract
⺠Plant monocultures increased C allocation to shoots, whereas mixture increased additionally shoot C allocation. ⺠Rhizomicrobial activity was unaffected by drought, while root activity was decreased in most cases. ⺠Belowground processes under legume species might be less affected by drought.
