Abstract
⺠Decomposition of labelled roots was slower in topsoil than in subsurface layers. ⺠Root OM incorporation into the finest fraction was faster at the first decay steps. ⺠Root OM in the fine fraction was more labile and rich in N than in the coarser ones.
