Abstract
► The effect of temperature on oak and pine leaf litter decomposition was assessed. ► We developed a novel litter slurry incubation approach. ► Temperature did not effect respiration during the first 14 days of incubation. ► Enzyme production was initially lower at the warmer temperature. ► Decomposition later increased with temperature as enzyme pools increased.
