Abstract
⺠Nitrogen stimulated basal and substrate induced respiration in BDOBS-CLPP assay. ⺠High N availability (through fertilization) removed N limitation to microbial respiration. ⺠Increased respiratory response with N addition was associated with low bacterial growth.
