Abstract
⺠We traced labeled carbon into soil microorganisms from particle size fractions. ⺠We investigated the effect of input amount on microorganisms and carbon dynamics. ⺠We found an dominating effect of soil fungi on carbon dynamics. ⺠High carbon input results in high carbon recycling and low storage efficiency. ⺠Low carbon input increases plant carbon use and carbon storage efficiency.
