Abstract
⺠This is the first study of CH4, CO2 and N2O concentrations in soil down to 300 cm. ⺠The distinct differences were found in greenhouse gas concentration profiles. ⺠CO2 concentrations were relatively high in the warm and moist maize growing season. ⺠No clear seasonal patterns were found for concentration profiles of CH4 and N2O. ⺠Temporary increases were most pronounced for N2O (e.g. nitrogen fertilization).
