Abstract
► We present information on the use of tree buffers (shelterbelts) in the control of odor emissions. ► Swine buildings had a larger impact on slowing wind velocity and increasing mixing (turbulence) than tree buffers. ► Tree buffers had a limited capacity to trap odorous material emitted from a swine facility. ► Particulates were reduced by 40% and odorous compounds by 40-60% with the use of shelterbelts.
