Abstract
ⶠThe Puerto Rican coffee industry is in decline and depends on government support. ⶠGovernment recommendations led to conversion from shade to sun coffee. ⶠShade coffee farmers were more satisfied with their cultivation practices. ⶠMost farmers would be willing to plant shade trees if they were supplied. ⶠShade coffee could help preserve both biodiversity and the coffee industry in P.R.
