Abstract
▶ Soil quality (SQ) was assessed in a 10-year-old poplar short-rotation coppice (SRC). ▶ SRC improved SQ compared with agricultural and uncultivated systems. ▶ SRC under three harvest frequencies (T1, T2 and T3) increased differentially SQ. ▶ T1 and T2 affected positively arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal abundance and diversity. ▶ T3 improved the majority of chemical and biochemical parameters.
