Abstract
- Curcumin improved growth and increased feed conversion efficiency in O. mossambicus.
- The gene expressions of GH, IGF-1and IGF-2 were enhanced promoting growth.
- Curcumin reduced blood glucose levels, promoting glycogenesis.
- The hepatic leptin and its receptor were down-regulated enhancing better feed utilization with reduced food intake.
- Curcumin can be supplemented as a cost effective, safe and viable feed in aquaculture.
