Abstract
- Stocking density for the seahorse Hippocampus reidi in the pelagic phase was tested.
- No differences in growth or survival were observed among densities varying 1-15 individual per liter.
- From the tenth day after release onwards some individuals present benthic behavior and need substrate adequate for fixation.
- Studies during the benthic phase should take into account the amount of linear substrate per individual.
