Abstract
The present study is relevant for aquaculture of rainbow trout reared in freshwater farms. One of the main problems in freshwater fish farming is infections caused by Yersinia ruckeri, eliciting the disease Enteric Red Mouth Disease (ERM). The present manuscript describes how fish farmers can save time and improve their economy by using a bath vaccination method against this disease when they handle and transport their fish for other reasons (transport between farms or ponds).
