Abstract
► A dopamine receptor type 1 cDNA of Penaeus monodon was cloned and characterized. ► PemDopR1 was expressed mainly in the central nervous system of the shrimp. ► Activation of PemDopR1 expressed in COS-1 cells resulted in elevated cAMP levels. ► Shrimp with mature ovary showed a decreased level of PemDopR1 mRNA.
