► Oncomiracidial development of Sparicotyle chrysophrii is described. ► Incubation time ranged from 5 to 10 days. ► Most of the hatchings occurred during dark periods. ► Maximum oncomiracidium survival time ranged from 2 to 3 days. ► Specimens emerging during dark periods had longer survival times.
