Abstract
⺠All-male prawn culture presents promising avenues for increasing yield and income. ⺠Three Indian geographically isolated prawn strains were assessed for all male culture. ⺠The West Bengal strain showed best performance after eight months growout in ponds. ⺠Functional neo-females were achieved via androgenic gland ablation. ⺠Reciprocal strain cross of neo-females and males is suggested for monosex production.
