Abstract
⺠Sexually receptive female rats do not prefer an unrelated, unfamiliar male rat to their father. ⺠Prepubescent female rats do not prefer their father to an unrelated, unfamiliar male rat. ⺠Prepubescent male rats do not prefer their father to an unrelated, unfamiliar male rat. ⺠Adult male rats do not prefer an unrelated, unfamiliar female rat to their mother. ⺠Therefore, adult preferences show little evidence of inbreeding avoidance and juvenile preferences show little evidence of kin affiliation.
