Abstract
► Drug addicts and non-addicted controls worked on a delay-discounting task. ► Time to reward delivery was described either as dates or as intervals. ► Discounting was stronger when time was presented as intervals. ► Addicts' discount rates varied substantially according to the presentation of time. ► Controls changed their choices depending on time presentation only slightly.
