Abstract
Our results indicate that in Map exposed cattle, M. bovis diagnosis using IFN-γ assays needs a combination of PPD-B/A and ESAT-6/CFP10 for early and optimal sensitivity and that sensitivity of MPB83/MBP70 serodiagnosis is dramatically increased by prior skin testing. Map exposure did not interfere with the development of SIT in M. bovis infected animals, but resulted in a false positive M. bovis specific IFN-γ and antibody response after SIT in one of the two control animals (which remained negative in skin-test).
