Abstract
Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) nanoparticles have been widely used for biomedical applications including image-directed theranostics and biomarker detection. The basis, composition and methodologies developed for SERS nanoparticles are discussed. Development of biocompatible SERS nanoparticles has promising prospects for clinic applications.195
