Abstract
We suggest that the constancy in network selectiveness and modularity facilitates the coexistence of species through the fine distribution of niches and the equitable distribution of food resources in periods of greater precipitation and temperature, when the availability of host plants is greater. Overall, we show for the first time how abiotic factors can influence the emergent structural properties of an antagonistic tropical plant-herbivore network.
