Landscape delineation strategy and size of mapping units impact the performance of habitat suitability models

- Two landscape partitioning strategies at four resolutions were compared using generalized additive models.
- Resolution had a larger impact than delineation strategy on model performance.
- We recommend testing different shapes and sizes of mapping units for every species in order to optimize predictive accuracy.
