ZusammenfassungDas Erkennen und Bewerten von Risiken, insbesondere von neuartigen Arzneimitteln, und Maßnahmen zu ihrer Minderung gehört zu den wichtigsten Aufgaben in der Pharmakovigilanz, gerade unter neuen Bedingungen der Arzneimittelversorgung. Sie sollen dem “precautionary principle” folgen. Risiko-Management-Pläne sind dafür ein neues Instrument. Die Erarbeitung einer Risiko-Spezifikation für neue Wirkstoffe und eines Pharmakovigilanz-Plans sowie eine geeignete Risikokommunikation sind die wichtigsten Elemente der Risiko-Management-Pläne.
