Effects of Bacillus subtilis on the growth performance, digestive enzymes, immune gene expression and disease resistance of white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei

► We studied the effects of two potential probiotics on shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei for 8 weeks. ► The resistance and immune response of shrimp to Vibrio harveyi was studied for 10 days. ► Probiotics showed the improvement of growth performances of shrimp after 8 weeks. ► Total protein and digestive enzyme activity of shrimp were increased. ► The resistance and immune gene expression of shrimp were resulted in the challenge test.
