Abstract
⺠A novel antimicrobial peptide was purified from the skin of yellowfin tuna. ⺠The purified peptide showed high sequence homology with the N-terminus of GAPDH. ⺠This peptide showed broad spectrum antibacterial activity without hemolysis. ⺠The secondary structure of this peptide include one α-helix and two β-strands. ⺠This is the first report that isolates the antimicrobial peptide from tuna species.
