Abstract
► A novel antimicrobial peptide was purified from the skin of yellowfin tuna. ► The purified peptide showed high sequence homology with the N-terminus of GAPDH. ► This peptide showed broad spectrum antibacterial activity without hemolysis. ► The secondary structure of this peptide include one α-helix and two β-strands. ► This is the first report that isolates the antimicrobial peptide from tuna species.
